A Letter from Our Founder
We believe:
Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities want to spend their days achieving new goals, interacting with others, and enjoying meaningful activities. Our philosophy emphasizes partnerships with those we serve, their families, guardians, host home providers, our employees, and the communities in which we work in an effort to help individuals shape the direction of their own lives.
Everyone's day is uniquely structured, so they can participate in the activities that are important
to them. Our Director of the day program will convene intake meetings with each participant and
their circle of support to develop an individualized service plan to get to know their interests,
hobbies, and personality, as well as vocational interests and goals.
We Believe:
Individuals of all abilities deserve the opportunity to realize their potential through service and
support provided in their own communities. Those positive and nurturing relationships are the basis
for growth and change. These relationships are best fostered through active participation in the
daily activities that 5 GOLD STAR CARE offers.
Individuals can work on personalized goals and participate in community outings, trips to museums and parks, and community events. 5 GOLD STAR CARE will also work on the following:
- Personal safety awareness
- Positive behavioral support
- Vocational skills
- Independent living skills
- Communications
- Volunteer work
- Anger management
- Money managing
- Decision making
Thank you,
Gloria Nicholson
